Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 27 seed, rallied from the brink to defeat sixth-seeded American Coco Gauff to move into the last 16 of the Miami Open at the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday evening.

Gauff had control of things late in the second, holding a 5-3 lead, but Potapova dug in a staged a rousing comeback to dash the American’s hopes, 6-7 (8), 7-5, 6-2.

How did the 21-year-old, who trailed Gauff 2-0 in their head-to-head prior to Saturday’s showdown, manage to come back?
