American qualifier Robin Anderson won against Elvina Kalieva 6-2, 6-2 to reach the second round of the Midland Open at the Greater Midland Tennis Center on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old American, ranked No 337 in the world, will play the winner of the match between top seed Emma Navarro and lucky loser Chloe Beck next.
