Midland Open: Bektas knocks out Scott to move into quarter-finals

No 7 seed Emina Bektas reached the quarter-finals of the Midland Open by beating wildcard Katrina Scott 7-6 (7), 6-2 at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.
Bektas, ranked No 104, will play the winner of the match between top seed Emma Navarro and qualifier Robin Anderson next.
Emina Bektas edged out wildcard Mccartney Kessler (2-6, 6-4, 7-5) in the previous round of the Midland tournament.
In the first round of the Midland tournament, Scott, ranked No 444, beat Mexican Renata Zarazua (7-6 (8), 4-6, 6-2).
