Montreux Nestlé Open: Marcinko advances to semi-finals

Wildcard Petra Marcinko edged out Tara Wurth 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the semi-finals of the Montreux Nestlé Open on Friday.
Marcinko, ranked No 292, will play the winner of the match between Swiss Jil Teichmann and Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, Petra Marcinko won against American Louisa Chirico (6-1, 6-4) and Slovak Veronika Erjavec (6-0, 6-1).
Wurth, ranked No 361, edged out Swiss qualifier Jenny Duerst (1-6, 6-2, 7-5) and beat Dutch qualifier Anouk Koevermans (2-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
