No 4 seed Barbora Krejcikova reached the last eight of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open when Spanish lucky loser Sara Sorribes Tormo retired on Thursday at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City.
Krejcikova, ranked No 12, led 6-2, 1-0 when Sorribes Tormo, ranked No 54, pulled out at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City on Thursday.
Barbora Krejcikova will face the winner of the match between Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina and Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Abu Dhabi tournament, the Spaniard beat qualifier Linda Noskova (6-3, 3-6, 6-3).
