Mumbai Open: Semenistaja beats Hesse to make last eight
Darja Semenistaja beat Amandine Hesse 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 and will play the winner of the match between Yamalapalli and Polina Kudermetova in the next round

Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the No 6 seed, moved into the last eight of the Mumbai Open by edging out French qualifier Amandine Hesse 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 at the Cricket Club of India.
Semenistaja, ranked No 121, will face the winner of the match between Indian wildcard Sahaja Yamalapalli and Russian Polina Kudermetova next.
In the previous round of the Mumbai tournament, the 21-year-old Latvian defeated Hungarian Panna Udvardy (7-5, 3-6, 6-2).
Hesse, ranked No 305, won against Israeli qualifier Lina Glushko (6-1, 6-1) in the first round of the Mumbai tournament.
