Nordea Open: Tomova advances to the semi-finals
Viktoriya Tomova won against Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-3, 6-0 on Thursday and will face Su Jeong Jang in the next round
Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova defeated Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-3, 6-0 to move into the last four of the Nordea Open at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Thursday.
Tomova, ranked No 112, will play Su Jeong Jang next.
The Bulgarian won against Swede wildcard Jacqueline Cabaj Awad (6-3, 6-2) and Turk Ipek Oz (6-2, 3-6, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Buzarnescu, ranked No 127, won against Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-4, 6-2) and Chinese Yue Yuan (6-2, 6-1).
