Frenchwoman Alize Cornet reached the last 16 of the Nottingham Open by edging out wildcard Katie Swan 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Cornet, ranked No 72, will face Greek Maria Sakkari, the top seed, next.
