Nottingham Open: Kessler wins the tournament
McCartney Kessler lifted the trophy on Sunday against Dayana Yastremska.

American McCartney Kessler lifted the Nottingham Open trophy by beating Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska 6-4, 7-5 at Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre on Sunday.
Kessler, ranked No 42, picked up her third career title and second in 2025.
The American defeated Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the top seed (7-5, 6-7 (3), 7-5), Chinese Lin Zhu (6-1, 6-4), No 8 seed Katie Boulter (6-3, 3-6, 6-4) and Slovak Rebecca Sramkova (6-4, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Nottingham tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Yastremska, ranked No 46, defeated Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 9 seed (6-4, 7-6 (4)), Croat qualifier Antonia Ruzic (6-2, 2-6, 6-4), Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 5 seed (6-3, 7-6 (6)) and Pole Magda Linette, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-4).
