Spanish wildcard Marina Bassols Ribera advanced to the last 16 of the Open Internacional Femení Solgironès when French qualifier Margaux Rouvroy retired on Tuesday.
Bassols Ribera, ranked No 275, led 5-7, 6-3, 3-1 when Rouvroy, ranked No 256, pulled out.
The Spaniard will play German Eva Lys, the top seed, next.
