Ostrava Open: In-form Krejcikova ends Parks’ run to reach semi-finals

Czech Barbora Krejcikova ended the stunning run of American qualifier Alycia Parks 7-6 (7), 6-3 to advance to the last four of the Ostrava Open at the Ostravar Aréna on Friday.
Krejcikova, ranked No 23, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Elena Rybakina and Czech wildcard Petra Kvitova next.
The Czech beat American Shelby Rogers (6-2, 6-2) and Swiss Belinda Bencic, the No 6 seed (W/O) in the previous rounds of the Ostrava.
Earlier in the tournament, Parks, ranked No 144, won against Czech Karolina Pliskova (6-0, 7-6 (3)) and edged out Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 4 seed (5-7, 7-5, 7-5).
