No 4 seed Diane Parry edged out Chloe Paquet 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 to move into the last four of the Palermo Open at A.S.D. Country Time Club.
Parry, ranked No 58, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the top seed, and Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous rounds of the Palermo tournament, Diane Parry edged out Australian qualifier Olivia Gadecki (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) and won against Swiss qualifier Jil Teichmann (6-2, 6-7 (4), 6-2).
Paquet, ranked No 115, beat Chinese Saisai Zheng (6-3, 6-3) and Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle (6-3, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
