Slovenian Kaja Juvan, the No 6 seed, beat Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Parma Ladies Open on Wednesday afternoon.
Juvan, ranked No 108, will face Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the top seed, next.
The 22-year-old Slovenian won against German Noma Noha Akugue (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round.
During the 32, Paquet, ranked No 188, won against Italian wildcard Jennifer Ruggeri (6-3, 6-4).
