Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 6 seed, moved into the second round of the Parma Open by winning against Brazilian Laura Pigossi 6-1, 6-2 at the Tennis Club Parma on Monday.
Bogdan, ranked No 53, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian qualifier Reka Luca Jani and Slovak qualifier Anna Karolina Schmiedlova next.
