Puerto Vallarta Open: Cristian advances to semi-finals
Jaqueline Cristian cruised past Tatjana Maria 6-1, 6-1 on Saturday in Puerto Vallarta. She awaits either Rebeka Masarova or Maddison Inglis in the next round.

Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the top seed, defeated German Tatjana Maria, the No 5 seed, 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the last four of the Puerto Vallarta Open on Friday night.
Cristian, ranked No 72, will next face the winner of a match between Swiss Rebeka Masarova and Australian wildcard Maddison Inglis.
Ahead of her victory, the Romanian beat Harriet Dart (6-3, 6-2) and Japan’s Ena Shibahara (3-6, 6-4, 6-3).
Maria, ranked No 86, advanced to the quarter-finals with wins over Italian Lucrezia Stefanini (6-2, 6-2) and Jodie Burrage (2-6, 6-3, 6-2).
