Belarusian qualifier Iryna Shymanovich advanced to the last 16 of the Puerto Vallarta Open by edging out Frenchwoman Carole Monnet 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-5 on Tuesday evening.
Shymanovich, ranked No 204, will face American Hailey Baptiste, the No 7 seed, next.
