No 14 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova beat qualifier Erika Andreeva 6-0, 3-6, 6-1 to reach the last 16 of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.
Alexandrova, ranked No 19, will face Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, Ekaterina Alexandrova beat Bulgarian lucky loser Viktoriya Tomova (7-6 (5), 6-3).
Andreeva, ranked No 106, defeated qualifier Diana Shnaider (7-6 (2), 6-4) in the previous round of the Qatar tournament.
