Qatar Open: Anisimova rousts Fernandez to reach quarters

American Amanda Anisimova won against Canadian Leylah Fernandez 6-3, 6-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Wednesday evening.
Anisimova, ranked No 41, will face Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk next.
The American beat Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (6-3, 7-5) and Spaniard Paula Badosa, the No 9 seed (6-4, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Qatar tournament, Fernandez, ranked No 27, defeated Belgian qualifier Greet Minnen (6-1, 6-2) and American Emma Navarro, the No 8 seed (6-2, 6-2).
