Qatar Open: Kenin advances to last 16

Wildcard Sofia Kenin reached the last 16 of the Qatar Open by defeating qualifier Alycia Parks 7-6 (3), 3-6, 6-2 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday.
Kenin, ranked No 73, will face the winner of the match between Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 7 seed, and Tunisian Ons Jabeur next.
Ahead of her victory, Sofia Kenin won against Ashlyn Krueger (6-4, 6-4).
Parks, ranked No 90, beat Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 11 seed (6-4, 7-6 (2)) in the previous round of the Qatar tournament.
