Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova advanced to the last 16 of the Qatar Open when Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk retired at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday.
Pavlyuchenkova, ranked No 32, led 2-1 when Kostyuk, ranked No 29, pulled out at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday afternoon.
The Russian will play No 6 seed Marketa Vondrousova next.
In the previous round of the Qatar tournament, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova beat No 11 seed Daria Kasatkina (6-2, 7-6 (2)).
The 21-year-old Ukrainian won against American Caroline Dolehide (6-3, 7-5) during the first round of the Qatar tournament.
