Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova defeated No 6 seed Marketa Vondrousova 7-5, 6-3 to reach the last 8 of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.
Pavlyuchenkova, ranked No 32, will face the winner of the match between American qualifier Danielle Collins and Katerina Siniakova next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Russian won against No 11 seed Daria Kasatkina (6-2, 7-6 (2)) and Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (2-1 ret.).
Vondrousova, ranked No 8, edged out Belgian qualifier Greet Minnen (6-2, 0-6, 6-4) in the previous round of the Qatar tournament.
