Rouen Open: Erika Andreeva defeats Burrage to book spot in semi-finals

Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva reached the last 4 of the Rouen Open by defeating No 4 seed Jodie Burrage 6-4, 6-2 at Palais des sports de Rouen.

Andreeva, ranked No 166, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 5 seed, and Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz next.

In the previous rounds of the Rouen tournament, the 19-year-old Russian edged out Swiss Jil Teichmann (4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5)) and won against Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin (6-3, 6-1).

Burrage, ranked No 91, beat Ukrainian Daria Snigur (6-3, 6-3) and French wildcard Alice Robbe (6-1, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
