Spain’s Marina Bassols Ribera upset Frenchwoman Clara Burel, the second seed, 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the second round of the Rouen Open at Palais des sports de Rouen on Tuesday.
Bassols Ribera, ranked No 111, will play fellow Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz next.
