American Lauren Davis, the No 7 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Strasbourg Open by winning against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 at the Tennis Club de Strasbourg on Wednesday.
Davis, ranked No 58, will play Russian wildcard Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova next.
The American beat French qualifier Sarah Iliev (7-5, 6-0) ahead of her win today.
In the previous round of the Strasbourg tournament, Tomova, ranked No 71, edged out Frenchwoman Alize Cornet (3-6, 6-4, 7-5).
