Strasbourg Open: Samsonova cruises past Collins to make final

Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 8 seed, advanced to the final of the Strasbourg Open by beating American Danielle Collins 6-4, 6-2 at the Tennis Club de Strasbourg on Friday evening.
Samsonova, ranked No 19, will face Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, next.
The Russian won against Linda Noskova (6-1, 7-5), French wildcard Diane Parry (6-4, 6-4) and Spaniard Paula Badosa, the No 3 seed (6-4, 3-6, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Collins, ranked No 46, won against Sofia Kenin (6-1, 1-6, 6-2), wildcard Emma Raducanu (4-6, 6-1, 6-3) and Russian Anna Kalinskaya (W/O).
