Stuttgart Open: Gauff reaches last eight

American Coco Gauff, the No 4 seed, won against German lucky loser Ella Seidel 6-1, 6-1 to move into the last 8 of the Stuttgart Open at the Porsche-Arena on Thursday.
This is Gauff’s second quarter-final of the year.
She has now won her last 16 matches against players ranked outside the Top 100.
Gauff, ranked No 4, will play Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 5 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Stuttgart tournament, Seidel, ranked No 124, edged out wildcard Tatjana Maria (3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4).
