Jule Niemeier reached the second round of the Stuttgart Open by edging out fellow German wildcard Laura Siegemund 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the Porsche-Arena on Tuesday evening.
Niemeier, ranked No 121, will face the winner of the match between German wildcard Eva Lys and Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 5 seed, next.
