No 6 seed Marketa Vondrousova advanced to the last eight of the Stuttgart Open by beating Russian Anastasia Potapova 7-6 (5), 6-1 at the Porsche-Arena on Thursday.
Vondrousova, ranked No 8, will play Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, next.
Marketa Vondrousova won against Croat Donna Vekic (6-4, 6-3) in the previous round of the Stuttgart tournament.
In the previous round of the Stuttgart tournament, Potapova, ranked No 36, won against Liudmila Samsonova (6-4, 4-6, 6-3).
