Thailand Open 2: Hontama moves into last eight

Japanese Mai Hontama reached the last eight of the Thailand Open 2 by winning against Thai wildcard Lanlana Tararudee 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 on Thursday.
Hontama, ranked No 130, will face the winner of the match between Chinese qualifier Xinyu Gao and Dutch qualifier Arianne Hartono next.
In the previous round, the Japanese defeated Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, the top seed (7-6 (4), 7-5).
Tararudee, ranked No 184, beat wildcard Thasaporn Naklo (6-0, 6-1) in the previous round.
