Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 5 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by defeating Belgian qualifier Marie Benoit 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday night.
Bondar, ranked No 110, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Ana Bogdan, the top seed, and Australian Astra Sharma next.
In the previous round, the Hungarian edged out Greek Valentini Grammatikopoulou (6-3, 2-6, 6-4).
Benoit, ranked No 244, edged out Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet (3-6, 6-2, 6-4) in the previous round.
