Dutchwoman Anouk Koevermans moved into the last eight of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy after Romanian Anca Todoni, the No 5 seed, withdrew before the match on Thursday.
Koevermans, ranked No 246, will face the winner of the match between No 3 seed Irina-Camelia Begu and wildcard Patricia Maria Tig next.
The 20-year-old Dutchman won against Romanian wildcard Georgia Andreea Craciun (6-2, 7-5) in the previous round.
During the 32, Todoni, ranked No 132, beat Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic (7-5, 6-3).
