Romanian wildcard Andreea Mitu won against Spaniard Carlota Martinez Cirez 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy on Tuesday.
Mitu, ranked No 309, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 3 seed, and Swiss Lulu Sun next.
