Upper Austria Ladies: Alexandrova survives first set scare to book semi-final ticket

Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 4 seed, reached the semi-finals of the Upper Austria Ladies by winning against Croat qualifier Petra Martic 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at the TipsArena in Linz on Friday evening.
Alexandrova, ranked No 30, will face top seed Karolina Muchova next.
Ahead of her victory, the Russian beat Belarusian qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich (6-3, 6-2).
Martic, ranked No 125, won against German wildcard Eva Lys (6-4, 5-7, 6-3) and edged out Armenian Elina Avanesyan, the No 7 seed (6-4, 4-6, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
