Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 7 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open by defeating American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger 6-3, 7-5 at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City on Wednesday.
Kasatkina, ranked No 14, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Sorana Cirstea and Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of her win today, the Russian edged out French qualifier Diane Parry (6-4, 5-7, 6-4).
Krueger, ranked No 82, won against qualifier Bernarda Pera (6-2, 5-7, 6-3) in the previous round of the tournament.
