WTA Adelaide: Siegemund withdraws ahead of Kasatkina match

Russian Daria Kasatkina moved into the semi-finals of the Adelaide Open after German Laura Siegemund withdrew before the match on Thursday night at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park.
Kasatkina, ranked No 15, will face the winner of the match between Russian qualifier Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and American Jessica Pegula, the second seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Russian won against American qualifier Claire Liu (6-4, 6-3) and edged out qualifier Anna Kalinskaya (5-7, 6-4, 7-5).
Siegemund, ranked No 89, edged out Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 7 seed (6-7 (1), 6-4, 6-4) and defeated Romanian lucky loser Ana Bogdan (6-4, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
