Krejcikova seals semi-final spot in Riyadh, Swiatek out
The Czech’s straight-sets win is enough to see her through to the final four

Barbora Krejcikova snapped up the last semi-final spot at the WTA Finals by defeating Coco Gauff 7-5, 6-4.
The result also means that defending champion and world No 2 Iga Swiatek is eliminated.
The Czech went into the match knowing that she needed to win in order to level her win-loss record with Gauff and Swiatek – all three of them finished in the Orange Group with two wins and one loss.
But Krejcikova tops the group thanks to percentage of sets won, with Gauff coming in second.
Krejcikova had won her only previous match against the American, and took her second opportunity to serve out the match, saving four break points in the process.
And she seized on a Gauff double fault in the second set to break and take a 5-4 lead before serving it out with the calmest of demeanours.
