WTA Hobart: Saville upsets Zhu to book semi-final spot

Australian wildcard Daria Saville moved into the semi-finals of the Hobart International by edging out Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 3 seed, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 at the Hobart ’s Domain Tennis Centre on Thursday night.
Saville, ranked No 195, will face Belgian Elise Mertens, the top seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Australian edged out Russian Anna Blinkova (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) and beat American Sofia Kenin, the No 6 seed (7-6 (3), 6-1).
Zhu, ranked No 33, won against Italian Lucia Bronzetti (7-5, 6-1) and edged out American Caroline Dolehide (5-7, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Hobart tournament.
