Former world No 1 Boris Becker was jailed for two and a half years on Friday for hiding some of his assets after being declared bankrupt.
The 52-year-old, three times a champion at Wimbledon and the winner of six Grand Slam titles in all, was found guilty of breaking insolvency laws on April 8 and received his sentence in a south London court on Friday.
Becker, who was declared bankrupt in 2017, hid assets and loans worth 2.5 million pounds in order to avoid paying off his debts, which were calculated at 50 million pounds.
The German was found not guilty on April 8 of 20 other charges, including refusing to hand over his tennis trophies and medals.
