Los Cabos Open: Johnson through to second round
Steve Johnson defeated Gonzalo Villanueva 7-6 (1), 6-4 on Wednesday night. He’ll face the winner of the match between Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis, the No 7 seed, and Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the next round
American Steve Johnson beat Argentinian lucky loser Gonzalo Villanueva 7-6 (1), 6-4 to advance to the second round of the Los Cabos Open at the Cabo del Mar Sports Center on Tuesday.
Johnson, ranked No 92, will play the winner of the match between Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis, the No 7 seed, and Spaniard Fernando Verdasco next.
