US Open: Nakashima reaches third round and will play Sinner next
Brandon Nakashima beat Grigor Dimitrov 7-6 (5), 7-5, 6-3 on Thursday. He’ll play Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 11 seed, in the next round.

American Brandon Nakashima advanced to the third round of the US Open by beating Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 17 seed, (7-6 (5), 7-5, 6-3) at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Thursday evening.
Nakashima, ranked No 69, will play Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 11 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 21-year-old American won against Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov (7-6 (4), 6-2, 6-2).
Dimitrov, ranked No 19, won against American Steve Johnson (6-3, 6-2, 6-2) in the previous round.
