Dubai Open: Bublik into second round after Lazarov retirement

Kazakh Alexander Bublik reached the second round of the Dubai Open when Bulgarian qualifier Alexandar Lazarov retired on Tuesday at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre.

Bublik, ranked No 46, led 6-1, 1-0 when Lazarov, ranked No 301, pulled out at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Tuesday afternoon.

The Kazakh will face the winner of the match between Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed, and Italian lucky loser Matteo Arnaldi next.
