Austin Open: Andreeva through to second round
Erika Andreeva edged out Harriet Dart 7-6 (4), 3-6, 7-6 (3) on Tuesday and will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska and German Anna-Lena Friedsam in the next round
Russian lucky loser Erika Andreeva edged out Harriet Dart 7-6 (4), 3-6, 7-6 (3) to reach the second round of the Austin Open at the Westwood Country Club on Tuesday.
It is the new WTA longest match of the year, lasting three hours and 32 minutes, with Dart missing two match points in the third set.
Andreeva, ranked No 135, will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska and German Anna-Lena Friedsam next.
