Pole Magdalena Frech advanced to the last 8 of the Nottingham Open by beating Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 8 seed, 6-2, 6-4 at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Wednesday.
Frech, ranked No 77, will face the winner of the match between Pole Magda Linette, the No 3 seed, and Jodie Burrage next.
Ahead of her victory, the Pole won against Sonay Kartal (6-3, 5-7, 6-2).
Zhu, ranked No 39, won against American Alycia Parks (7-6 (5), 6-2) in the previous round of the Nottingham tournament.
