Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor moved into the last 8 of Halle by edging out Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 6 seed, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (8) at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Thursday evening.
Griekspoor, ranked No 29, will face Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 3 seed, next.
The Dutchman won against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (6-2, 7-5) in the previous round of the Halle Open.
During the first round of the Halle Open, Hurkacz, ranked No 17, beat American qualifier Christopher Eubanks (6-4, 6-7 (11), 6-3).
