Ukrainian wild card Elina Svitolina won against Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 5 seed, 6-2, 6-2 to reach the last eight of the Mubadala Citi DC Open on Wednesday evening.
It is Svitolina’s seventh win in a row over Kasatkina, maintaining her 100 per cent record.
Svitolina, ranked No 27, will play the winner of the match between top seed Jessica Pegula and lucky loser Peyton Stearns next.
In the previous round, the Ukrainian defeated Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (7-6 (2), 6-4).
Kasatkina, ranked No 11, won against Belgian Elise Mertens (6-3, 7-5) in the 32.
