San Diego Open: Krejcikova beats Haddad Maia to reach semis, faces Collins next
The Czech won in straight sets over Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday

Fourth seed Barbora Krejcikova reached the semi-finals of the Cymbiotika San Diego Open by winning against Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday.
Krejcikova, ranked No 13 in the world and a former Grand Slam singles winner, will play American Danielle Collins next.
In the previous round, the Czech beat Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina (6-3, 6-2) while Haddad Maia, ranked No 20, had won against Canadian wildcard Leylah Fernandez (6-3, 5-7, 6-2) and Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-2) in the previous rounds.
