Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera, the No 5 seed, won against Croat Lucija Ciric Bagaric 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the last four of the Zavarovalnica Sava Ljubljana on Friday afternoon.
Bassols Ribera, ranked No 132, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Miriam Bulgaru and Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 3 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Spaniard edged out Serb Lola Radivojevic (1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (5)) and beat Greek Sapfo Sakellaridi (6-4, 6-3).
Ciric Bagaric, ranked No 290, defeated Austrian Sinja Kraus (7-6 (4), 6-3) and Spaniard Aliona Bolsova, the second seed (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) in the previous rounds.
