Guadalajara: Garcia saves two match points, books spot in last 16

Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 3 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Guadalajara Open Akron by edging out Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 on Tuesday evening.
Garcia, ranked No 11, will face American Hailey Baptiste next.
The third seed had to overcome 85 unforced errors and save a pair of match points with Sasnovich serving for the match at 6-5 in the second set to win in two hours and 45 minutes.
She improves to 6-0 lifetime against Sasnovich.
Sasnovich, ranked No 89, won against Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus (6-1, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round.
