Jiangxi Open: Sasnovich defeats Savinykh to move into last eight

Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich advanced to the quarter-finals of the Jiangxi Open by winning against Russian Valeria Savinykh 6-3, 6-2 at Nanchang International Tennis Center on Friday.
Sasnovich, ranked No 90, will play the winner of the match between Chinese qualifier Xiaodi You and Canadian Leylah Fernandez next.
The Belarusian beat Slovak Viktoria Hruncakova (6-1, 6-3) in the previous round of the tournament.
Earlier in the week, Savinykh, ranked No 146, edged out Pole Magda Linette, the second seed (7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (3)).
