“I’m doing everything I can to get back out there” – Kyrgios
The Australian made his debut as a commentator for the Tennis Channel on Wednesday and provided an update on his injury and rehab

Former Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios revealed that he is doing everything he can to get back on the tour but it could be some more time before he is able to do so.
The 28-year-old Australian has played only one match all season, a first round loss in Stuttgart in June, due to injuries after enjoying his most successful season as a pro in 2022. He underwent knee surgery in January and then tore a ligament in his right wrist in the middle of his season.
While fans were hopeful of a return during the Australian summer, Kyrgios’ latest comments put that under a cloud as he said it would be a few more weeks before he could remove a splint from his serving forearm.
“After last year, I had such a great year and I’m so hungry to get back out there. I’m doing everything I am to get back out there,” Kyrgios said during his debut as a commentator on the Tennis Channel on Wednesday. “Every day, doing the rehab, doing the gym work, but to be here, to be able to watch the match we’re about to watch … I’m really looking forward to breaking it down for everyone out there.”

Kyrgios is also taking inspiration from Germany’s Alexander Zverev, who came back from a major ankle injury and qualified for the ongoing ATP Finals this year.
“The stars have to align a little bit,” Kyrgios said. “And with Zverev, he’s an incredibly hard worker. That’s his reputation. He ticks all the boxes and, if someone like that can come back from an injury like that, I think that’s what I have to draw inspiration from for sure.”
Kyrgios also pulled out of the UTS Seoul event in early December where he was replaced by Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka.
